1Spark! Festival Recap

In case you missed it, the second annual 1Spark! Festival in Spartanburg, South Carolina was held in partnership with The Chapman Cultural Center, The Greenhouse, Spartanburg Art Museum, The George, The Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Growler Haus. We were incredibly lucky to enjoy a beautiful afternoon with creative local minds. With over 60 exhibitors to visit, there was something for everyone, young and old. The people that were able to make it had a great time learning, interacting, and creating. This event was a great example of the potential that can come from makers of all kinds collaborating.

Project Hub was able to showcase some of our makers’ wares, such as glass art, refinished antiques, and re-purposed crafts. Working with the Chapman Cultural Center, Project Hub was able to get the crowd involved with 1Spark! via the Creativity Challenge. We provided supplies of all kinds to a group of young minds ranging in the ages of 8-16. This year they were tasked to create a “rainy weatherproof device” that was to be tested on site. Everyone involved had a blast and it was a great way to cool off on a hot day.
